Bar none, the number one question I get from folks when I talk Disney is: “What age is the perfect age for a Walt Disney World vacation” - or something along those lines.
My initial answer is always “Any age!” Here’s why:
Your child may not remember the trip - we took our twins when they were 18 months old for the first time. But let me tell you - those pictures are AMAZING. Why? Because they remind us of the magic we felt the first time Emerson & Everett met Mickey. And Piglet! Oh my gosh those pictures truly melt my heart.
Taking time to bond as a family is important at any age. So if your children are 6 months or 10 years old - un plug a bit and just laugh and take in the sights and sounds.
If price is a consideration: I recommend 5 or 6 years old is a great age for a “once in a lifetime” trip. Why? At 5 or 6, kids are tall enough to ride pretty much every attraction (with the exception of one or two).
If you’re aiming for a “once in a lifetime” trip - definitely stay at a Walt Disney World Resort! The resort amenities are amazing and shouldn’t be overlooked.
Pick a moderate or deluxe resort: these resorts will have amazing pools! Fun slides and water features!

I always ask my families who use my services to give me feedback about their vacation and I can tell you not ONE person has ever said “Gosh, I wish we hadn’t gone.”
EVERY family says “I wish we would’ve done this sooner” and then I get to hear funny and amazing stories about their vacations - the joy and love they experience is very moving.
That’s it! There’s no “perfect age” but if you can (or want) to only go once: aim for at least 5 or 6 years old. But honestly: you’re going to go once and I can guarantee you’ll want to go again in a few years!
