John's Weekly Travel Update March 11, 2022

I just CANNOT with this Winter weather! We had a WONDERFUL day last Saturday and it was such a tease to the warm days ahead! In the meantime: let's talk all the fun things about travel!

New Shows PLUS "Festival Of Fantasy" Parade RETURNS to Magic Kingdom Park!

On the anniversary of its debut in 2014, the beloved “Disney Festival of Fantasy” parade has returned – this time winding its way through the park not once, but twice each day! That’s double the chance to experience the enchanting floats – like the fire-breathing Maleficent dragon – and iconic music as characters from “The Little Mermaid,” “Tangled,” “Peter Pan” and more bring their individual stories to life in a spectacular way.

“Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” recently made its debut! This newly enhanced show features characters from “Frozen,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more as they join Mickey Mouse and all his friends in a musical extravaganza on the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage.

The opening and finale of the show feature a heartwarming new song and sparkling EARidescent fashions designed exclusively for The World’s Most Magical Celebration!

New Genie+ Selections Added!

Starting March 11, the following experiences will be added as selections to Disney Genie+ service:

  • Magic Kingdom: Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade

  • Disney’s Hollywood Studios: See Disney Stars at Red Carpet Dreams

As a reminder, the purchase of Disney Genie+ service is available in addition to a standby entrance or traditional parade viewing.

*Attractions with Lightning Lane entrances that are Disney Genie+ and individual purchases are limited in availability, subject to change or closure, may vary by date, are not guaranteed and may not be available at all on the date of visit or at the time you make a selection.

First Look At "The Little Mermaid" Stage Show On Disney Wish!

It's no secret that "The Little Mermaid" is my all-time favorite Disney movie (probably Ursula has something to do with that). If you skip over the fact that Ariel is 16 (!) in the movie, the songs are fantastic!

When Disney Wish sets sail this summer - it will introduce a new stage show! "Disney The Little Mermaid" will feature innovative theatrical design, dazzling special effects, artistic choreography, and a reimagined script and score that will surprise and delight guests of all ages.

“Under the Sea” will be the show’s biggest production number, complete with incredible vocals, show-stopping choreography and plenty of special effects.

“Poor Unfortunate Souls” will be a more soulful take of the classic tune, filled with all of Ursula’s confidence and glamour. During this number, her power will manifest in a jaw-dropping moment as she truly becomes larger than life.

I am SO EXCITED for the Disney Wish! There will be so much to see and do (if I can drag my kids out of the Oceaneer's Club!).

Try Something Different At Walt Disney World

When I'm helping a client plan their trip - I'm often asked: "What can I do that's unique and memorable?"

Check out the Starlight Safari! You climb aboard an open-sided safari vehicle and witness the wild as it comes to life on an after-dark safari tour. Feel the rush of the night air as they rumble through lush scenery, scanning the horizon for over 30 species of African wildlife on this popular, nighttime expedition.

This tour is a VERY unique twist on a visit to Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park! Ask me for details!

Destination Spotlight: Panama!

When you think of Panama - the first thing that comes to mind is "canal", no doubt!

But Panama is home of some fantastic beaches and amazing (but sometimes HOT) weather!

The Riu Playa Blanca is a great moderate resort with service that is top notch and black sand beaches! The resort itself is newer and modern and although there are service changes due to COVID, the food and drink will be flowing!

The upside is convenient nonstop service from several US gateways on COPA! The downside is a longer transfer to the resort - but you get to check out the Panama countryside!

The BEST part is the pricing is incredibly competitive: lower than Mexico or the Caribbean for the most part! 5 nights with airfare runs around $1,000 per person!

If you want to give a new location a "go" - this might be for you!

That's all folks! Are you ready to plan YOUR next great escape? CLICK HERE to get started!
