John's Weekly Travel Update February 18, 2022

Writer: John DostalerJohn Dostaler
Walt Disney World makes a big announcement about masks and other tidbits from the travel world!

Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort Mask Update

Face coverings will be optional for fully vaccinated Guests in both outdoor and indoor locations. Guests who are not fully vaccinated are expected to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters. Face coverings are still required by all Guests (ages 2 and up) on enclosed Disney transportation, including Disney buses, monorails, and Disney Skyliner.

Keep in mind: this is for fully vaccinated guests only and due to the Federal mask mandate does not apply on transportation (so have those masks handy).

Also: Disney Cruise Line has not changed the mask policy and masks are still required while indoors except while actively eating and drinking.

West Coast News: Disney Cruise Line Announces Additional Sailings From San Diego

Beginning in fall 2022 and continuing through spring 2023, the Disney Wonder will sail 3-, 4-, 5- and 7-night cruises to Baja, Mexico and the Mexican Riviera from San Diego, making it the longest San Diego Season yet. Depending on the itinerary, these sailings will visit Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Ensenada and Catalina Island. Bookings for these new itineraries just opened!

SWEET TOOTH ALERT!

Inside Out: Joyful Sweets

The shop will offer nearly 40 flavors of gelato and ice cream, with daily handcrafted gelato specials in decadent combinations like peanut butter pretzel and white chocolate raspberry. Whipped cream, fruit compotes and sauces will be freshly made in-house to complement a wide selection of tasty toppings.

Signature treats inspired by the film will include colorful cupcakes that evoke the five emotions — Joy (lemon), Sadness (blueberry), Disgust (pistachio), Anger (red velvet) and Fear (bubble gum) — and chocolate Memory Orbs filled with sweet candy remembrances. Specialty macarons and cake pops will join the assortment of handcrafted truffles, designer cookies, indulgent brownies and vibrant candy offerings.

Olaf’s Royal Picnic

For the first time ever, guests can join their favorite “Frozen” friends for a summertime picnic in Arendelle during a premium entertainment experience specially designed for families with children ages 3 to 12. At Olaf’s Royal Picnic, guests will interact with Olaf, Anna, Elsa and Kristoff like never before and delight in live musical performances of beloved songs like “Let It Go,” “Fixer Upper” and “In Summer.”

This is an additional fee item - I can help you navigate the process when you book your cruise!

Disneyland Toon Town Refurbishment Update

Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland Park will soon begin its transformation into a vibrant symphony of sights, sounds, and sensations with some all-new experiences, more play and interactivity with a focus on families and young children.

To begin this work, Mickey’s Toontown will be closed beginning March 9, 2022, and will reopen in early 2023, alongside the new attraction, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway.

Need Some Alone Time?

Normally when you make a reservation at an all-inclusive (or even a cruise) and you travel solo - you pay for two no matter what. This is called a "single supplement" and it can feel like a penalty for traveling alone!

HOWEVER - RIU Hotels & Resorts has a fantastic offer until April 30, 2022! At select RIU Hotels & Resorts - you won't need to pay a single supplement fee! You must book this offer by February 28, 2022 so contact me today for more information!

I am off on a Disney Cruise this weekend with my family! I will have limited access to email and calls - but please CLICK HERE if you're ready to start planning YOUR perfect vacation!
