John's Travel Update November 4, 2022

Happy November! Are you ready to "fall back"? I'm not! So to help me deal with it, I love to plan trips to tropical locations (for myself, too). Everyone loves a beach-y trip! Here are some things that caught my eye this week:

Disney News Updates

Disney Cruise Line Modifies

Health & Safety Protocols

  • Beginning Nov. 14, 2022, for sailings departing from the United States, Disney Cruise Line will no longer require Guests (regardless of vaccination status) to provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test prior to sailing. This basically means you no longer need to test prior to sailing or at the port. If you're departing from an international port: this will be effective February 1, 2023.

More Characters On Disney Cruise Line's Marvel Day At Sea

This has always been a fantastic way to meet your Marvel favorites - and now it's even better! Disney Cruise Line has announced that Captain America Sam Wilson, Mighty Thor, Shang-Chi, Marvel, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Kate Bishop are joining the lineup! These sailings are January through March 2023 on the Disney Dream. Contact me for more information!

Fodor's Announces
"New Best Places To Go"

After two years of recommending only domestic destinations - Fodor's is announcing some International Destinations this year! Where? Check it out:

  • Japan: Newly reopened after lifting tight COVID restrictions and thanks to a favorable dollar-to-yen exchange rate, this country is welcoming U.S. travelers with the lowest prices in decades.

  • Oahu, Hawaii: This is where residents are rejuvenating resorts and recommitting tourism hot spots to preserving and celebrating Native Hawaiian heritage.

  • Maratea, Italy: This is a less crowded cousin (although every bit as stunning) to the world-famous Amalfi Coast.

  • Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula: This is your warning: growth is coming and if you want to visit before the changes - this is your chance!

  • Colorado's Camp Hale: This was a training area for World War II soldiers that's now a newly designated national monument protecting 54,000 acres of prime hiking, camping, and mountain biking territory high in the Rocky Mountains.

There are so many REMOTE and unusual areas to explore! Drop me a line at john@travelprojohn.com and let's talk about where you want to go!
