“Life’s not a spectator sport. If watchin’ is all you’re gunna do, then you’re gunna watch your life go by without ya.” – Laverne (The Hunchback of Notre Dame)
Who loves a party?
That’s exactly what it feels like when there is a festival at EPCOT!
If you’re not familiar: EPCOT has two distinct areas: “Future World” where you find fun attractions and pavilions and “World Showcase” where a swath of countries are represented in cultural and dining immersion.
Here’s the tentative schedule for the remainder of 2021:
March 3, 2021 through July 5, 2021 - Taste of Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival
July 15, 2021 through November 20, 2021 - Taste of Epcot International Food & Wine Festival
Late November to Late December - Taste of Epcot International Festival of the Holidays
Due to COVID restrictions it should be noted that festivals have changed by eliminating in-person seminars, lessons and entertainment.
What’s left? FOOD! DRINK! Fun!
EPCOT has both permanent and temporary booths set up throughout World Showcase (and even a couple in Future World) full of delicious tastes and beverages (both adult and alcohol-free versions!).
For the kiddos there is a paid (pretty low-cost for Disney) scavenger hunt - they look for hidden items and after they’ve found them all they return the map for a free gift! My twins LOVED the Food & Wine Scavenger Hunt!
Pros and Cons of Festivals
The pros of course are the amazing foods and drinks. It really is fun to try all new delicious menu items!
The cons of festivals can be the crowds: in particular at Food & Wine. I always recommend avoiding weekends at EPCOT during F&W due to the crowds.
I personally LOVE the International Flower & Garden Festival! Because I live in chilly Illinois - it’s a wonderful time to be surrounded by so many amazing topiaries and flowers! It makes me forget the winter!
I hope you’ll tune in next week when I talk about….Universal Studios Florida! Yikes!
